AIS is essential for offshore sailing, especially if you do it solo. One person cannot be on guard and look on the horizon 24/7 and the Graphene + will be my watchkeeper when I'm in my bunk sleeping and resting. The + version also comes with a built-in antenna splitter, which allows me to set up one antenna for both the AIS and VHF. If that one fails I will have a spare antenna to switch to. It is safer and more convenient.
DIAB has been very kind to deliver Divinycell sheets for the modifications that I intend to do. Divinycell is a core material that does not rot as plywood would do, and sucks up the resin so the result is a very strong and light composite. Moreover, it works very good as insulation and floats because it traps air inside its closed cells. This is ideal properties for cold and rough conditions, such as the roaring fourties.
